Patience pays off… let me just start with that. Very occasionally, we have to reschedule sessions with our clients, and the biggest culprit is normally weather. That happened with this amazing couple Brian and Audra… And then it happened again… and again! (We originally planned their session back in August!) But with all that waiting, day-of decisions, and rescheduling we arrived at THE PERFECT day! The weather was beautiful, the trees were in the peak of fall, and our couple was just stunning!

Laura has known Brian and his family for a long time. When Laura was at CNU, she was also leading a high school youth group At a nearby church, and Brian attended it before going off to Virginia Tech. And it was at Virginia Tech that Brian and Audra met for the first time. They now both live in Richmond, which is where we decided to photograph at, specifically Dogwood Dell.

When we start our sessions, especially engagement sessions, most of our couples have little or no experience with having themselves photographed. Often, it takes the first several minutes for our couples to warm up and get comfortable with us just snapping away while they are sharing an intimate moment. That all changed on this session. Brian & Audra hadn’t had experience being photographed. However, the photo below is one of the first shots we took, and we weren’t even directing them! Every moment we weren’t instructing them on a pose, they were just chatting away, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Their giggly and smily personalities made our jobs incredibly easy, and it was just obvious to see how much they loved being with each other, laughing together, and sharing in life’s moments (including standing in front of a stranger’s door while we photographed them)! We just didn’t want to put our cameras down, and several times throughout the session we even asked them to “do that again… you guys can’t be that cute when we are looking down to check our imagery!” Seriously, they are such a happy and stunning couple! Congrats Brian & Audra, you guys were amazing, and we can’t wait for your wedding day!
