You might have seen half of this couple at the beginning of the year as she was our STUNNING model for our styled shoot last year. But let me tell you that if you thought she was gorgeous then, just wait until you see her below, engaged, and not being blown about on the beach by gale force winds! Not only does Kela look like she just walked out of a catalog, but she also walked out with a very handsome guy on her arm; but more importantly, a guy that really loves her over and above.

Kela is Laura’s cousin, so we’ve gotten to know Austin a little better than most, and we couldn’t be happier for the two of them! They are so perfect together, and they are probably the most drop dead gorgeous people we have ever photographed. With the Richmond fan district behind them, and that warm winter sun, we couldn’t stop taking photos of these two very special people. We spent half the time in the fan and the other half at Brown’s Island, where Austin proposed. Be warned though, right in the middle, as our amazing clients were changing to their formal outfit (we LOVE couples that spend part of their session in formal attire) we did a few details with Kela’s pet, a gecko, and you won’t believe what he has on his head!

We focus a lot of our engagement sessions on getting our clients comfortable in front of the camera. But when you get lucky enough to have a couple like Kela & Austin, you don’t have moments where they aren’t looking super natural! Most of that is down to our clients focusing on each other during our session, holding each other, laughing with each other, and just enjoying together. The wonderful and magnificent end result of this is that most of our photos look completely in the moment, as if we weren’t there telling them to pose certain ways and sometimes do crazy things over and over again.

Kela & Austin, you guys were amazing, and we can’t express how happy we are for you two! We can’t wait to photograph you two again!
