We shot at a bunch of new venues this year.. and we swooned over them! Virginia has some seriously amazing venues!!! Here are 7 that we absolutely LOVED and would love to return to 😉 and 3 we are dying to shot at..
(www.barnva.com) I was in HEAVEN here. A gorgeous white barn on rolling hills? Yes please. And an added bonus, it’s run by a wonderful family, and has two amazing suites upstairs for the bride and groom to get ready in. This may be my favorite venue EVER.
(www.ablossomplantation.com) You can rent this whole house for the whole weekend. Rehearsal dinner, getting ready, ceremony, reception, brunch the next day.. you can do it all in one place. And who doesn’t love a big, beautiful plantation home?
(exclusiveobxhomes.com/portfolio/grande-ritz-palm/). OK this one isn’t in VA, but it’s close. Michael and I are absolutely obsessed with Duck, NC and this gorgeous venue home was RIGHT in Duck! It has an incredible ceremony spot right on the sound, and is just a short distance away from the ocean.
(www.kilncreekgolf.com) This venue is practically across the street from where we live and is GORGEOUS. Laura, who runs events, is amazing and so easy to work with. There is a hotel nearly attached to the main building, perfect for getting ready. AND they recently renovated the building, so it is ready to go! No ugly window treatments or hideous wall paper. It’s perfect.
(www.independencegolfclub.com) This set up may take the cake for the perfect location for a wedding day. They have cottages ON the course for guests to stay. They are GORGEOUS and in walking distance of each other. Close enough for your photographers to bounce back and forth between, but far enough away that the bride and groom won’t run into each other before they are supposed to. This building is stunning and there are endless spots for some fabulous pictures.
(www.themanorhouseva.com) This location was unbelievable perfect for the Christmas themed wedding we shot there. They literally turned the entire home into a winter wonderland. From the decorations on the mantle, to the frames on the walls, they transformed this amazing home into their own for the night.
(richmondweddings.com/vendor/historic-tredegar) I can’t believe we hadn’t shot here before.. and can’t wait to hopefully shoot here again soon! Right in the heart of Richmond, with an outdoor space and amazing architecture. A little added bonus, our bride got ready at the Linden Row Inn (www.lindenrowinn.com) which was really close and was SOOO beautiful!
(www.thehistoricpostoffice.com)*image taken from website You guys. You are probably not going to hear me stop talking about this place.. it is AMAZING. Kelsey, who runs the place is AMAZING, the bridal sweet is AMAZING, the location is AMAZING…
(www.bigspringva.com) *image taken from website Big Spring Farms is actually run by a couple I graduated with from CNU! Following this place on instagram is a little like torture (but you should go do it.. @bigspringva). This place is literally out of my dreams.. like I have DREAMED about this venue. And we would just LOVE to shoot here!
(www.jeffersonhotel.com) *image taken from website We aren’t usually ones for Hotels and ballrooms, but this place is definitely an exception. This gorgeous venue is right in the heart of Richmond, which we love. It has a ton of history, and is as classy as it gets. Bonus points if it’s a Christmas or New Years Eve wedding.
a husband and wife photography team based in Richmond, Virginia (though we LOVE to travel!). We hope you enjoy browsing some of our most recent work, reading our tips and tricks for brides, and taking a little peek into our life.
