The View at Bluemont Virginia Wedding

If you’re planning a wedding in Northern Virginia, you’ve probably heard about The View at Bluemont, an absolutely stunning venue nestled on a mountainside. Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing Leigh and Mike’s The View at Bluemont Virginia wedding at this gorgeous location, and we couldn’t wait to share all the beautiful moments.

The Venue: The View at Bluemont

The View at Bluemont is a dream wedding venue for couples who want the perfect blend of nature and elegance. Situated in the heart of Bluemont, Northern Virginia, this venue boasts a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. The house itself is spacious. The ceremony space sits on a charming patio with panoramic views that are simply unmatched. Leigh and Mike’s ceremony and cocktail hour took place on this patio, and the atmosphere was nothing short of magical.

Even with a little haze and cloud cover, the day felt like something out of a storybook. As photographers, we always appreciate soft lighting, and this day delivered. We were even able to capture stunning sunset portraits with Leigh and Mike as the sun dipped behind the mountains. If you’re planning a wedding in Bluemont and are worried about clouds, don’t be! At The View, the cloud cover adds a beautiful, ethereal touch to your photos.

A Unique Wedding Party and Family Focus

One of the most endearing aspects of Leigh and Mike’s wedding was their focus on family. Instead of a traditional wedding party, the couple decided to have their siblings stand by their side. They have three siblings each (Mike has three sisters and Leigh has three brothers). It was touching to see how close they all were, and that family closeness resonated throughout the day.

The venue’s large, well-designed rooms made the getting-ready process seamless. Leigh and Mike wanted to share these moments with their friends as well. It filled the day with lots of energy and excitement. With plenty of space for everyone, the atmosphere was joyful and relaxed.

Celebrations and Personal Touches

The reception was held in a grand ballroom attached to the main house. Huge windows allowed guests to soak in the stunning Bluemont view throughout the evening. The space was not only beautiful but also functional, providing room for both guests and vendors to move around comfortably.

During the reception, we saw more personal touches that highlighted the close-knit nature of Leigh and Mike’s family. Mike’s sister, who couldn’t attend because she was expecting a baby, surprised everyone by sending a heartfelt message via FaceTime. The couple’s family even made sure to celebrate Leigh’s father’s birthday with a cake and a round of “Happy Birthday.” These emotional moments were a testament to how important family is to the couple. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

A Champagne Saber Moment to Remember

One of the most fun parts of the day was during the cocktail hour when Leigh and Mike decided to saber a bottle of champagne. It was a show-stopping moment! With real swords in hand, they successfully opened the bottles and personally poured champagne for their guests. It was a unique and memorable touch that had everyone cheering.

If you’re looking for a venue in Northern Virginia that combines stunning views with elegant spaces, The View at Bluemont is truly hard to beat.

Congratulations to Leigh and Mike! We loved being a part of your special day and wish you a lifetime of happiness.
