Today we are sharing Lauren and Colin’s Founders Inn Virginia Beach Wedding day! It’s been 5 years since shooting a wedding at Founders Inn.

The Fountain – Founders Inn

One of our favorite spots there that is so fun is the ceremony space overlooking the fountain. It’s a gorgeous brick patio, surrounded by gardens. It was hot day. So it was good that Lauren and Colin planned to have handheld programs that were also fans for their guests. 

We originally thought it was going to rain, but it didn’t, so we’re just happy to have the sun out. Even if it was almost 90 degrees before the humidity, loved the sun.

They decided against doing a First look, so we hustled after the ceremony to get their full bridal party, family, and their portraits before they took some time for themselves. Their favorite parts of Founders Inn was the gardens around the ceremony space. So we took all their portraits around that area.

They also gave us a few minutes to do sunset portraits, which we think is so important if you decide against a first look. A second set of portraits when the light is best, will always be our recommendation. Even though we shot their sunset portraits in 5 minutes, we were able to get so much variety not only because of what Founders Inn offers, but also the sun wasn’t causing us to be so strategic. I wish all of our couples would do sunset portraits.

Colin and Lauren are both vet doctors, and met overseas during their education. They are both so laid back, and kind, and you could tell that their families and friends were so excited for them to tie the knot! Both sets of toasts were so thoughtful, with Colin’s brothers talking about how Colin always included his brothers in everything that he was doing. During both their vows and toasts, there were plenty of tears being shed!
