Today we are sharing Emily and Christian’s Potomac River engagement photos sessions.
Now I hate a long drive – and I hate traffic even more. But oh wow was this so worth it.
We actually do love shooting engagement sessions in new locations. Every time, I dread the drive and then I am so, so thrilled we did it. It’s always so much fun.
We pulled up to this location and it was GORGEOUS. They decided to do their shoot at Emily’s family’s river house in Hauge, VA so on the Potomac. They had a huge property, with a little peninsula and a dock. Tons of hidden little pockets to shoot in. It was an absolute blast.
The light was perfect. The sun set behind the trees which gave us beautiful light off the river on the shoreline.
I feel like we said this with our last post. A lot of times when a couple is in their more formal outfit on the engagement session they commented that this is not what they normally wear. But I feel like that’s the point it’s just a special occasion and a fun time to sort of dress up. But that was definitely the case for Emily and Christian they loved switching into their more casual outfit and honestly I loved it to.
They drove down from DC for this shoot – so it kind of ended up being a fun halfway point.
They don’t get married until next year at Waverly Estate. We love Waverly, it’s another beautiful property that is worth the little bit of a drive that it takes to get there!
So you’ll see them again next year, but for now, enjoy a few of our favorites from this Potomac River Engagement Photos session.
Congrats you guys!
