Today we are sharing Lindsey and Frank’s Rainy Historic Tredegar Wedding day. 

When you have a wedding at Tredegar, you need to find a separate place to get ready.  Lindsey and Frank choose one of our favorite locations for getting ready; The Jefferson. Specifically the Jefferson Suite. I realize that is a huge splurge – but it is so worth it! 

It also came in so clutch because after Lindsey put on her wedding dress, it started pouring rain.  So it was so nice that we were able to pivot and use the balcony at the Jefferson Suite to do some bridal portraits and a first look with Lindsey’s dad. We also moved the first look with Frank from originally being at Tredegar, to the balcony as well. 

It made an enormous difference that we were able to have the balcony as a rain location.  Tredegar doesn’t have great rain options for portraits so being flexible and taking some at the Jefferson was so great. 

I thought you were going to say when you’re at Tredegar you need a planner. Which is how we are able to work with Roberts and Co so often.  And oh how I love them.  They are such an amazing team and do so much to make your wedding day both beautiful and flow nicely.  Which is especially important when you have to make changes on the day for things like rain. 

Lindsey and Frank have two of the biggest and most beautiful personalities.  Lindsey was so joyful all morning – even knowing it was going to rain and things weren’t completely going to plan.  She is so positive and such a joy. 

She also has the sweetest relationship with her family.  Her and her sister Becky were just so fun together. Then her mom was just the sweetest.  Seeing them all together was amazing. Then adding her brother in during the reception was so fun.  They all jumped on stage together at one point during the reception and it was one of my favorite parts of the day seeing them all singing and dancing together. 

Frank’s grandma is actually our next door neighbor.  Just coincidentally.  She’s been giving us a countdown for the past month or so every time we see her.  And it was so nice to be able to see her celebrating with everyone. 

So after their ceremony, which was under the tent outside. The rain actually cleared up a bit so we were able to take a couple of portraits outside. Then they had cocktail hour on the patio, but also in the reception space.  

They really transformed Tredegar for this wedding day.  The pipe and drape was incredible, as was the dance floor.  Also the seating was gorgeous. They had chandeliers brought in.  It was all so stunning. The “Chuck’s Cosmo Bar” was so much fun.
