Today we are sharing Lauren and Colin’s Virginia Beach park sunset engagement session that we just shot at First Landing State Park then finished nearby their house at Chic’s beach.

It was such a cool spot, honestly the best beach session we’ve ever had. The weather and the light were so perfect.  The color in the sky and the water was just so vibrant. Sometimes we have people who want to shoot at the beach earlier in the day, but that can be challenging because the bright sun can be harsh with the light sand and reflection from the water.  But this session just hit at the perfect time. 

Virginia Beach park sunset engagement – the Caribbean

Let’s start with your backstory though. It’s just such a cute story. They are both veterinarians and actually met while doing a program in the Caribbean. Lauren & Colin lived in different parts of the country but started doing long distance before she ended up moving to Richmond.

They are just an adorable couple.  We started a First Landing State park. Last time we were at First Landing we pretty much had a place to ourselves. This time it was packed but we were still able to find pockets where we were totally alone. It was absolutely beautiful!

Then we actually went to their house for them to be able to change and walked to the beach. I turned them and asked if they did that every single day because I think if I lived where they live I wouldn’t get anything done ever. I would just do this beautiful walk (just a couple blocks) to the beach every single day. It was just the perfect night for it too.

I also love the beach for the laid-back beach outfits. They did such a good job with their outfits. She wore a light white dress and he had a linen shirt. It looked so classic and beachy, while still being really put together. Actually while we were walking there somebody stopped and asked if they were going to go get married because that’s how great they looked.

It was really just so nice to be able to spend the evening with them in Virginia Beach. It was a perfect evening with Colin and Lauren – scroll below to see so many of our favorites from this beach session.
