Today we are sharing Lexi and Jack’s engagement session that we just shot here in Richmond at Maymont, then finished up at Tredegar. They are actually from Chicago, but they came to visit and we were able to fit their engagement session in between venue tours and dress try ons. 

Maymont and Tredegar are two of our favorite venues here in Richmond.  Maymont is such a perfect spot for portraits right now. We’ve been there for several sessions recently and it’s been pretty quiet and the flowers are beautifully in bloom.  It also helps a little bit because Maymont closes before sunset during the summer months so it’s really a good location when you want to go to more than one spot. 

They choose Maymont because that’s where Jack proposed.  We also used a few spots that we don’t normally go to at Maymont because Lexi and Jack were just so easy and up for anything.  They were such a fun couple to photograph. 

After Maymont we headed over to Tredegar.  Tredegar is actually in the middle of some construction, or really just outside, because of the amphitheater they are building. But even still, it’s one of our favorite spots.  

We recently heard they are going to close while the construction is happening for (I think) fall of 2024. Which is great so couples don’t have to fight with the construction and Tredegar can really serve their couples well. We love Tredegar – it’s such a great spot in Richmond. 

So we did their first outfit at Maymont. Then they changed into their more formal outfit before heading to Tredegar for the second half of their engagement session. I was a little worried that we wouldn’t get bright glowy light like Lexi had referenced in some of her favorite sessions of ours.  But we ended up with great light at both spots and had such a great time with these two.
