Today we are sharing Haven and John’s Boulevard Burger Richmond Engagement Session that we just shot here in Richmond. They will be getting married next fall at the Mill at Fine Creek. But for this session we went to their first date spot which was Boulevard Burger and Brew in Scott’s Addition. 

I think it’s always fun when couples pick a spot that’s really personal to them for their engagement session. But it’s also really fun when we use a new spot that we haven’t photographed before. And I also love photographing at other small businesses here in Richmond, so Boulevard was the perfect location. 

Boulevard brought out a big basket of french fries for them during their session. And we just kind of walked around and took some pictures outside of the building which were really fun; it has this classic diner feel. 

For the second part of their session we headed to the Canal Walk which is actually where they had their second date. They changed into there more formal outfit which I loved. It’s always a good idea when planning an engagement session to choose two outfits. We always recommend one that’s a little more casual and one that’s a little more formal. Besides it’s a great reason to splurge on a new dress.

Also when we were talking about where to park to get to the section of the canal walk where they wanted to take portraits we decided on parking near Main Street station. That ended up being perfect because Main Street station is really sentimental to John, so we were able to take a couple of portraits there before heading down towards the water. 

It was about 5,000,000° this day so John didn’t wear the suit jacket that he brought. And they were such troopers the entire time. So glad that their wedding is going to be in nice cool weather and they won’t have to deal with the heat a second time. Fingers crossed.. it is Virginia.
