Today we are sharing Molly and Matthew’s Mankin Mansion rainy wedding day. They just got married here in the Richmond area at Mankin Mansion.
We haven’t been to Mankin Mansion in a few years and since then there has been some really wonderful upgrades. Their getting ready space in particular is wonderful. It makes such a huge difference when there is an open space for your bridesmaids to all be able to come in and drop all of their stuff. Then hair and make up to come in and drop all of their stuff and not have a ton of other furniture and things in the room. It doesn’t hurt to have big beautiful windows amazing natural light and this bridal suite has all of those things.
Mansion mansion is a pretty large property with a lot of different areas on it. So you can go to these different pockets and get a ton of variety. They have a garden area, beautiful buildings, pathways, all kinds of things.
One of those areas that came in really clutch for this wedding was their indoor ceremony area. It was pouring rain just before the ceremony, so they had to move inside. And though they were obviously disappointed they couldn’t do their ceremony in the outdoor garden area – the indoor space here is a great back up.
Then the rain cleared up enough that we were able to take portraits outside. Molly and Matthew were flexible and built in extra portrait time which made it so we were able to capture everything they wanted.
My absolute favorite thing they did on their wedding day – they did their introductions, announcing the bridal party, first dance, first dances with their parents, everything in the cocktail area. Then they invited guests into the tent.
It was SO fun! It was a really easy flow of people and it made it so they have two different beautiful areas of those special moments from the reception. With their timeline they didn’t join cocktail hour, but now they still have photos of that area they love.
It’s such a good idea, creates a really nice flow for the day, and utilizes your venue well.
Then their reception was wonderful. Mankin Mansion has a nice big vaulted tent and we love it.
Then they go to use this beautiful car for their exit – which is what I thought you were going to say was the best part. And Matthew did a cigar bar with some of his friends which was fun too.
It was a wonderful day with a wonderful couple, scroll below to see so many of our favorites from this Mankin Mansion rainy wedding.
