Today we are sharing Abby and Jack’s Tredegar downtown Richmond spring wedding day.  Just got married here in Richmond at our favorite venue, Tredegar. 

What was really fun to is that usually when we shoot a wedding at trigger the bridal party gets ready at the Delta hotel which is like a block away. It’s just super convenient and since try to go doesn’t really have a getting ready space it’s a good option. 

But Abby decided to get ready at her parents’ home. They live almost right on the corner of Libby and Grove in a beautiful home which was such a fun option. It was comfortable, there was plenty of space, and they had beautiful areas for portraits.

And then we also use their neighbor’s house for some more portraits. They just had a beautiful garden and outdoor space for us to utilize for pictures. So that’s where we did the first look, portraits, and bridal party. 

The other thing I think they did well is that Jack decided to get an Airbnb that was really close by. I think when you’re not getting ready at your venue you should aim to be about five minutes away from each other. Any longer and you’re spending so much time on the wedding day with just travel.

So the guys I’ll get ready at that Airbnb if they took the trolley over to Abby’s parents house to do portraits. Y’all, if you have more than one location on your wedding day and you are not renting a trolley what are you doing? It is such a beautiful and practical choice.

Tredegar downtown Richmond spring wedding day

The house was beautiful for portraits but so I was Tredegar. I think I could shoot at Tredegar every single day and be happy. There’s so much variety in such a short space. You have the waterfront, you have the historic building, you have the patio where the museum is. You have all these different options that give you such a beautiful portrait locations.

I also just absolutely love Abby style. And I think I should also credit her mom a little bit here too. The two of them along with their planner, Bryce (who I know you’ve heard us talk about before – we absolutely adore him), did such an incredible job! 

The two of them really low florals so Erica from Black Creek Flowers did an absolutely amazing job with the bouquets and centerpieces. Everything was so gorgeous – possibly my favorite florals from any wedding.

Also they kept everything in pink and it was SO fun.  It was all so pretty and classic.  I LOVED that her bridesmaids were in a patterned floral.  And she kept her sister who is her maid of honor in all pink. And it just. So nicely with the guys in their classic tuxes. It was just so fun and so classic at the same time.

Abby and Jack were so sweet and so much fun to work with. But their families were absolutely incredible. Every single time I talk to her mom or her dad I was just like you guys are the best. They were so supportive and so helpful with everything we did all day long.

Her dad’s welcome speech was so good.  We normally say speeches should be quick and to the point, but his was a little longer and SO good.  It was so natural and from the heart. And I also loved that it was the only toast of the night. 

They decided to focus on the party. The band, the Dundies, were there and they were there to party.  They had a smoke machine and were jumping all over the stage.  Late night snacks of pizza boxes being passed around. It was amazing.  Late night snacks are my favorite. 

They focused on family, beautiful details, and an amazing party. It was the best day.
