We were sharing Amy and Aaron’s Maymont Spring Richmond Engagement session that we just got here in Richmond at Maymont park – with light sabers and a dog. 

We did their dog, Ginger right at the end of their session because they don’t allow dogs in Maymont – which worked out perfectly. 

Two were so sweet and so much fun. I feel like so often our couples tell us that they aren’t super excited about having your pictures taken. So we are just constantly reminding people that we don’t like having her picture taken either. It can be uncomfortable and you can be unsure of yourself. But that’s where we really shine because we strive ourselves on making you be able to feel comfortable in front of our cameras and be able to have fun without a professional model. 

I had to ask them if they were in theater. Because their personalities are so fun and so big I can’t believe that they weren’t theater kids. I told Aaron I felt bad for every theater teacher that missed out on him.  

Amy and Aaron just played off each other so well.  It felt like they’ve been together forever and just fit together so well.  

They also had such a fun style. They picked really fun and bright outfits. I typically recommend people stick to neutrals and avoid a ton of patterns.  So Amy was apologizing they didn’t follow the “rules” but they did it SO well – I’m glad they didn’t show up in neutrals – it really wouldn’t have been authentic to them. 

Amy is doing a ton of DIYs for their wedding which we are really looking forward to.  We love a wedding DIY.  But they are also huge Star Wars fans, so they are incorporating little touches of Star Wars in the wedding. One of which is using light sabers for their sparkler exit. Their bridal party will all have sparklers!  So they brought the light sabers to the engagement session and we did a couple with those as well.
