We are sharing Karen and David’s downtown Richmond museum engagement session that we just shot here in Richmond at Tredegar, Brown’s Island, and the T-Pott bridge.

I think it’s so funny because yesterday at our wedding we worked with one of Karen’s good friends. She was a planner. But then also several other people came up to us saying that they knew another couple that we were working with, totally randomly. Richmond is just like this tiny little world.

Karen and David showed up in the most perfect outfits.  Karen had a beautiful white dress with a gorgeous pair of shoes and David had a great suit.  Guys, a jacket goes a long way. 

The best part of this session though was that Karen and David were so fun to hang out with. I feel like so many of our couples this year, I just wanted to invite over for a beer and be best friends with. I just immediately felt like we were old friends.

We started in front of the historic Tredegar doors, then continued onto the other side of the building were the American Civil War museum is.  The patio space over there is so fun with the large grey stone, but you still get the historic brick. 

And after they change their outfits, we headed over to Brown’s Island and finished up at the T-Pott bridge for the most perfect glowy light.

Coolest part though was that at one point we were on the bridge over the James River by ourselves. Which I don’t think has ever happened. I was actually able to shoot all the way down the bridge without anyone in the shot, which I don’t think has ever happened! 

It was surprisingly quiet.  And also perfect weather and great light.  It was the perfect session.
