Hey friends today we are sharing Michaela and Bryant’s Amber Grove sunny fall wedding just south of Richmond, in Midlothian, VA.
Their weather could not have been more perfect for that day. It was exceptional. For being November it was just beautiful.
Actually when we met Michaela and Bryant.. we first did a chat with them before they booked. They were talking about how they couldn’t decide on their ceremony location. Amber Grove has multiple wonderful ceremony spots. One of which is under this massive tree. Then another is up in the loft of the barn. And I think Bryant really wanted to do the barn.
But my favorite spot is that big tree. I just think it’s such a beautiful ceremony spot. And I’m really glad they went with that. Because the weather was so nice and so it was so lovely to be able to be outside. And under this gorgeous tree, especially in late fall, where the sun was setting. It was just gorgeous.
And John (the owner of Amber Grove) has hung these big lanterns that hang down on the big tree. And it’s super fun such a cool little touch.
Outside is also so much easier to shoot than inside the barn. We actually looked at Amber Grove when we were first picking a wedding venue ourselves. The barn was something that definitely attracted us. But now we know as photographers that barns can make things orangey and it’s hard to make colors and skin tones true to life. So it was really nice to be able to shoot outside.
They had an absolutely wonderful day. It was very family oriented. Her mom and her mother-in-law in the getting ready sweet we’re so adorable. They had a team of people helping set up in the tent.
The first dances were the cutest first dances. The two of them were adorable, but then Bryant and his mom.. I balled. They were both crying. But so was I.
It was such an adorable song. The song was written for a first dance. For a mother and son first dance. It’s almost annoying how adorable it is. I still bald like a baby. And his mom was so joyful the whole day. Both of their parents were so happy to be able to have this moment with their kids.
What I think is really sweet is that at the end of the ceremony both sets of parents came up to pray over them. And it was nice for such a family oriented couple to have that moment.
They also had a lot of really fun details. Instead of a traditional guestbook they had a giant wooden board with their last name and dates that people signed. They also had a letter box that had pictures from the engagement session on it. Just take a look below there were so many fun details.
Enjoy some of our favorites from Michaela and Bryant’s day. Congrats you guys!
