I’m sure we are not the first people to have this thought, but sometimes shooting someone’s wedding makes us realize how old we actually are. It’s actually probably more of an indicator of how long we’ve been photographing weddings, rather than how old we actually all are… I’m still considering my 31 year old self is 25… and at Kelly and John’s wedding this feeling creeped into my mind. Just three years ago we shot Kelly’s senior portraits, and three years before that we shot Kelly’s mother and second dad, Curt and Julie’s wedding! And that’s not even our start!

Regardless of how long it’s been though, we have been so lucky to know Kelly’s sweet family for all this time. You won’t find a cuter couple than Curt and Julie… except maybe for Julie’s daughter, Kelly, and her now husband John! (Sorry guys, we love you too!) Their quaint gathering at The Hornsby house in in Yorktown was full of family and friends celebrating what God had brought together. We were expecting rain on their wedding day, like we did for their engagement session. Luckily, again, like for most of their engagement session (let’s be honest, it did rain a little bit) we hit all the rain on the way, and none actually on the wedding day! They got married under the semi exposed reception area behind the house, where they also hosted their reception just in case of rain. But for them, their family, and their bridal party, we took full advantage of the open sky in front of the beautifully historic house, and the nearby fields! And one of the best parts of the venue is the bride and groom can even choose to stay the night of the wedding!

A wonderful venue with a wonderful couple! Kelly and John, we are so excited for you two, and can’t wait to see what God has in store for your lives together! Congratulations!
