Hello, friends! We’re so excited to share Sarah and Ben’s breathtaking snowy Dover Hall wedding in Richmond this past weekend. If you haven’t yet heard of Dover Hall, it’s basically a hidden castle in Richmond, and trust us, it feels like stepping into a European fairytale. From the moment you arrive, you’re transported to another time, much like the couple, who fell in love with the venue because of its resemblance to Europe, where Sarah spent some growing up. Dover Hall was the perfect choice for this classic, elegant, black tie wedding.

A Snowy Wedding Day for the Ages

Let’s start with the weather! The night before Sarah and Ben’s wedding, Richmond was blanketed with a beautiful layer of snow. And let us tell you, the snow made for some truly magical photos—it added an ethereal touch to the entire day. With her stunning custom-made dress from Barcelona, she was hesitant to step outside, but once she trusted us, we were able to capture some of the most breathtaking moments of the day.

The best part? We only had about 10 minutes for portraits outside, but those moments were pure magic. Sarah and Ben were absolute troopers and braved the cold for some unforgettable shots outside Dover Hall. And just wait until you see her veil! It was floor-length and absolutely gorgeous!

Family, Love, and Sweet Moments – Snowy Dover Hall Wedding

One of the most heartwarming parts of Sarah and Ben’s wedding was the bond between their families. The siblings were a true highlight. Ben and his brother, though not the closest in age, were inseparable on the wedding day. Their connection was undeniable, and the photos we took of the two of them together as the guys were getting ready? So sweet and so genuine.

Ben’s brother, Jake, and Sarah’s sibling, Finn co-officiated the ceremony, which was such a personal touch. It made the day even more intimate and meaningful! These siblings and these families seemed like best friends, and watching them support one another was such a joy.

Dover Hall – A Photographer’s Dream

We can’t rave enough about Dover Hall as a wedding venue. It has so many gorgeous spots to shoot, both inside and out. While we did brave the snow for some portraits, we also made use of the stunning interior spaces. The blue room was perfect for their first look and family, and the grand staircase provided the ideal backdrop for a few additional portraits of just the two of them. The staircase was made that much more gorgeous thanks to Amanda, the florist, for making the staircase absolutely stunning. The florals were everything!

The Best Vendor Team Ever – Snowy Dover Hall Wedding

When you have a dream team of vendors, it makes everything go smoothly. We were lucky enough to work alongside some of the best in the business for this wedding, including DJ Rudy Lopez, who kept the dance floor packed all night, and Ciera, one of our favorite wedding planners from The Hive. She made sure everything ran like clockwork, even handling last-minute changes (like switching to long banquet tables) flawlessly. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of vendors to make Sarah and Ben’s day unforgettable.

A Celebration to Remember

The whole night was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. The crowd was incredible—everyone danced the night away and stayed until the sparkler exit, which was a highlight of the evening. And let’s not forget the chicken sandwiches and sodas for guests to take home—such a thoughtful touch to wrap up an amazing celebration!

Sarah and Ben’s snowy wedding at Dover Hall was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. From the intimate family moments to the stunning snowy photos, this wedding will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We can’t thank the couple and their families enough for allowing us to capture such a beautiful day.
