The Jefferson Hotel Richmond Wedding

The Jefferson Hotel is truly one of the most incredible venues in Richmond. Nestled in the heart of Richmond, The Jefferson Hotel offers a historic elegance that feels like a sophisticated museum, and we had the honor of capturing Callie and Joe’s wedding here on a perfect fall day.

The Jefferson Suite – The Jefferson Hotel Richmond Wedding

From the start, Callie chose the best spot for the day—the stunning Jefferson Suite. This suite, with its grand balcony overlooking the city of Richmond, was ideal for those stunning getting-ready photos and detail shots. We loved how the suite’s spacious layout offered a place for us to take the details, getting ready, and even Callie & Joe’s first look. It’s a must if you are getting married at The Jefferson.

The morning was filled with laughter, friendly introductions, and the warmth of Callie’s bridal party. They were all amazing, but Callie’s maid of honor, Bridget, was just a beam of joy! She was obviously so excited for Callie & Joe, and made us feel so welcome. As if we were best friends!

A Picturesque First Look and Outdoor Portraits

With the perfect autumn weather, we took Callie & Joe’s first look on the Jefferson Suite balcony before heading to the picturesque entrance for portraits and bridal party. One of their bridal party members, who had just had surgery on a broken leg, was a serious trooper! He hustled with us the whole time, even if we needed to borrow one of the luggage carts to get him around.

Family Photos and Outdoor Beauty at The Jefferson Hotel

Callie and Joe opted to do a family photos before the ceremony, making the day feel more relaxed. We even discovered a new favorite spot—a quiet side sitting area off the main entrance that was perfect.

A Gorgeous Ceremony in the Empire Ballroom

The ceremony took place in The Jefferson’s Empire Ballroom, an elegant space that seemed made for a wedding. Callie’s friend officiated, making the ceremony even more personal and meaningful. We especially loved the subtle color coordination—he wore a green suit to match the bridesmaids, tying everything together beautifully.

A Lavish Long Island-Style Cocktail Hour

Callie, a Long Island native, wanted an unforgettable cocktail hour, and the Jefferson delivered. This was no ordinary reception—guests were treated to a feast featuring everything from lobster rolls to prime rib. Their cocktail hour was slightly longer than usual so Callie and Joe joined their guests, soaking in the moments, chatting with loved ones, and indulging in the amazing spread.

Transforming the Empire Ballroom for the Reception

The reception was also held in the Empire Ballroom, and the staff at The Jefferson along with the Hive executed a flawless room flip in record time. The décor, complete with a custom bar from Paisley and Jade, was impeccable, creating a unique and magical space for the celebration.

Thoughtful Touches and Late-Night Treats

Callie and Joe’s reception was filled with personal touches, from beautifully simple florals by Vogue Flowers to the couple’s choice of the Jefferson Hotel’s collectible ornament as a wedding favor. For late-night treats, guests were spoiled with mini desserts and additional snacks, keeping the energy high as the night continued.
