The Hidden Oaks Rainy Richmond Wedding

Today, we’re excited to share Miranda and Brett’s stunning Hidden Oaks rainy Richmond wedding. Their ceremony took place at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. Reception followed at the recently opened The Hidden Oaks, located on the south side of Richmond. Managed by the same team behind Outlook at Saddle Ridge, this new venue completely captivated us with its breathtaking design. The venue features expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a greenhouse-like ambiance that left us in awe.

The Hidden Oaks Venue

Driving up to Hidden Oaks, you might think you’ve missed the turn—its secluded location is almost hidden among the trees. But as you approach and see the light streaming through the glass walls, it reveals itself in all its splendor. The venue includes a charming bridal cottage, small suites for both the bride and groom, and a picturesque bridge connecting the cottage to the reception area.

Miranda and Brett’s preparations were split between the venue and a Richmond hotel for the guys. Their ceremony at St. Bridget’s was beautiful—one of our favorite churches for its classic, symmetrical design. The interior is elegant with white walls and wooden beams, offering great photo opportunities and a serene atmosphere.

The Rain – Hidden Oaks Rainy Richmond Wedding

Despite the rain, Miranda and Brett maintained an incredibly positive attitude. They chose not to do a first look, but we managed to capture all the essential getting-ready shots and pre-ceremony portraits. After the ceremony, we took a few quick photos at the church before heading to Hidden Oaks. As we arrived, the rain intensified, soaking us almost immediately. We braved the downpour with umbrellas—sometimes five at a time—to ensure Miranda and Brett got the photos they wanted.

Miranda’s willingness to embrace the rain and continue with the portrait session was truly admirable. Her flexibility helped us capture memorable shots despite the weather. The Hidden Oaks team, along with Tanya from Star Night Events, were fantastic, providing excellent communication and support throughout the day.

We also enjoyed working with Kat, a talented local videographer. Don’t forget Seth from Rhythm of Love, whose DJ skills kept the dance floor packed. The evening was a blast, with Miranda and Brett’s guests dancing and enjoying late-night snacks, including corn dogs—an unexpected but delightful treat.

Overall, it was a fantastic celebration filled with joy, love, and great company. Miranda and Brett’s wedding day was a perfect example of how a little rain can’t dampen the spirit of a truly memorable occasion. Enjoy some of our favorite moments from their beautiful day. Congratulations, Miranda and Brett!
