Dover Hall Wedding

Today we are sharing Nicole and Brian’s wedding day. They just got married here in Richmond sort of in the west end, at Dover Hall.

If you don’t know about the wedding venue Dover Hall, it is basically an English countryside castle. Mansion, house, fairytale..

It was very appropriate that they were playing classic string versions of Disney songs pre-ceremony. It was very much a fairytale wedding.

They apparently are obsessed with games and had tons of games set up throughout the venue. The really cool thing about Dover Hall is that you can use the entire space. So they really utilized the entire venue having cocktail inside and throughout the mansion. Their ceremony was outside on a beautiful lawn. The reception was inside in a Grand ballroom.

They had an entirely separate room for a private cake cutting (it was absolutely gorgeous!!). Upstairs they had the most amazing getting ready room for the bride and really utilize that entire space. Then there’s a cool billiards room for the guys to get ready that’s completely separate from where the girls are. It just is a really fantastic venue visually and spatially and practically.

There’s also so many different places to take portraits at this location. Dover Hall has just limitless options for beautiful pictures. We could have had all the Time in the world for portraits and still not used all of the spaces. So excited that we get back to Dover Hall a few of times this year and next so that we can really explore everything there is.

Dover Hall Wedding ceremony

Nicole and Brian were the most adorable couple. We don’t usually love long speeches or vows – but WOW was this wedding an exception. Though it wasn’t really fair because Nicole is in theater so obviously she is a great public speaker, and Brian is a writer so of course he was going to write something beautiful. Honestly the entire time they were saying their vows to each other I was just thinking to myself that if Michael and I do a vow renewal I’m going to call Nicole to ask her to help me write vows. It was, by far, one of the sweetest ceremonies we’ve ever photographed.

There were so many moments of this day where I really thought – this is the PERFECT wedding day. Their families, their friends and bridal party, their vendors – all incredible. Honestly, go look through the list of vendors at the end of this post – they are amazing.

It was also SUCH a fun party. Somewhat because Frank from Bunn DJ is an amazingggg DJ and definitely knows how to keep a party going. But also this crowd was amazing.

Oh and another thing I loved – a bubble exit from the ceremony. It’s always one of my favorite images and adding a fun exit makes it just perfect.

I love these two and this wedding day so much. Enjoy some of our favorites from this Dover Hall wedding day.

Congrats you guys!
