Today we are sharing Emily and Steven’s Downtown Richmond Fan District engagement session that we just photographed here in Richmond. We started at Scoop Ice Cream Shop and walked to Scuffletown park. This is a cute little park, tucked away behind houses in the fan. It’s essentially in the alley.
Scuffletown was bustling. There were a ton of people in this little teeny park. It’s the kind of place you want to go picnic or bring a cup of coffee and read a book. We were a little nervous because of the amount of people there. Usually we try to find locations (especially in the beginning of a session) that doesn’t have a lot of people. But Emily and Steven didn’t mind at all!
So we got an ice cream cone at Scoop and headed to the park for a bit. Then, since they live so close we headed to their house to change before going to the VMFA for the end of their engagement session.
The VMFA is a tried and true love of ours. There are so many places to shoot at the VMFA and provides so much variety for portraits. (We are going to share another VMFA engagement session later this week that will look completely different.) It’s such a great location for engagement pictures in Richmond. The museum is right in the heart of the city. So the VMFA offers those city vibes while also giving cool architecture, a park setting, and plenty of great shaded areas.
Emily and Steven, we had such an absolute blast with y’all for this session. We can’t wait to head back to the VMFA for your wedding in January – it’s going to be absolutely amazing. Hope you love these Downtown Richmond Fan District Engagement pictures as much as we do.
Congratulations!
