Today we are sharing Marnie and Kevin’s Sunrise Franklin Park DC engagement session.

I got a lot of DM’s after we posted their sneak peek asking me how you get pizza in DC at 6 AM. The answer is you don’t. You pre-plan and buy it the night before. Marnie and Kevin do frequent date nights at Edo’s in DC and so they wanted to incorporate it into their engagement session. So for the sunrise session we did a little pizza party in the park.

I feel like it’s been really common lately for a couples to tell us that they are not photo people. I don’t know what it is that is attracting this couple to us. But it works for us because neither are we. I don’t know a lot of people who are just naturally super comfortable in front of a camera and we love making people feel really confident while having their picture taken. But Marnie and Kevin really didn’t need a lot of help. They were super cute and so photogenic right from the start. 

Franklin Park was such a fun spot for this session.  They live just a couple blocks away, so I love that they picked somewhere that was super personal to them. I feel like it’s tough because DC has so many beautiful buildings and settings for photos, so when we heard they wanted to do a little random park, we were like “are you sure”? But I’m SO glad they picked this – it was beautiful and so them. 

Then we finished at a little coffee shop they love to add some variety at the end of their session. It’s always nice to have a second spot nearby to switch things up at some point during your shoot.
