Today we are sharing Bridget and John’s the Mill at Fine Creek garden party wedding day. The Mill at Fine Creek is a beautiful wedding venue just west of Richmond in the Powhatan area.
It has a beautiful reception space, patio, and creek area. The Mill is surrounded by trees – so you do need to keep that in mind while planning your timing. The reason you pick this venue is for that epic creek area with the rocks and trees – so planning to have time there at sunset is important.
The staff at the Mill at Fine Creek is incredible – they were so helpful in making sure our timing worked. They are amazing.
Bridget said she was going for “garden party” with her decor and she nailed it. Her flowers were incredible. If they were very wildflower like and used bold, bright colors. I loved that in the reception space she used bud vases everywhere and it just felt like the whole room was covered in flowers.
Her shoes were absolutely incredible. She had Vans embroidered with this wildflower theme along with her wedding date. They were so much fun and I’m sure amazing to wear.
Her invitations were also beautiful and printed with the same wildflower, bold color design.
Her bouquet was also so beautiful with big and bold colors. The florist did such an amazing job. The whole garden party vibe was amazing.
I also love that for the summer wedding they planned for the season. John wore a light colored suit and then his guys matched but didn’t have the jackets on so they could be a little bit more comfortable of the day. I love when people take that into consideration when planting outfits.
I also love that her brother officiated the ceremony. It’s so much fun with friends or family members officiate for you – it makes it so much more personal. He did such a good job and was cracking jokes the whole time making everybody laugh and it was such a good time.
Speaking of the deliveries – John’s brother-in-law was his best man and gave the best man speech at the reception. It was one of the best speeches we’ve heard. He did such an amazing job. He had everyone laughing and crying it was so sweet and you could tell how close these two were.
It was also Bridget’s uncle’s 45th wedding anniversary on that day. And what I think was really sweet is they did a reverse anniversary dance. So her aunt and uncle came to the dance floor to start. Then they did the anniversary is backwards. So if you’ve been married for 40 years, 30 years, 20 years – so that by the end of the day and everyone was on the dance floor. This was nice because rather than everyone clearing off of the dance floor – it brings everyone to the dance floor to start the party. It’s a really good idea. Their DJ did such a great job.
Anyways, we have so many favorites we’re excited to share. Scroll below to see some of this Mill at Fine Creek garden party wedding day.
