Today we are sharing Lauren and Josh’s Old Town Alexandria engagement session.

It was our first time shooting in Old Town Alexandria. And it’s so pretty. We could have walked these streets for so long. 

So because we are based in Richmond getting to Alexandria is no easy feat. I-95 on the Sunday after Thanksgiving is no where that anyone wants to be.  But it was so worth it for Lauren and Josh. Again old town Alexandria is so beautiful and Lauren and Josh just make such a fun and sweet couple that it was so great to be there.

We started down the streets of Old Town Alexandria and to work to stay focused because there were just so many options of places we could shoot.

Brett one of our friends here in Richmond is a photographer and shoots in old town Alexandria all the time so I talked with her about figuring out locations and a plan. She was so helpful in telling in certain spots. Thank God she did that because we would have easily been overwhelmed with all the options. We could have walked around all day shooting in all kinds of spots because it’s also beautiful.

I talked over the game plan with them in the beginning and Josh kept saying yes we thought that too! So it was nice that we were on the same page. We told them that we were going to take them down an alley and Josh immediately said all we really wanted to do that. So it really worked out perfectly.

Then my favorite part of the session is when they changed and we headed down to the water. All the side streets are so beautiful but it’s also right on the water. We caught it at sunset, so it was absolutely gorgeous.

The light was just hitting everything right and it was the perfect set up for the perfect evening. We actually ended the session and then asked if they had a favorite spot for dinner. We turned it into a little date night for the two of us where we ate at this great restaurant right on the water. So basically it was a wonderful session that turned into a wonderful evening for the two of us.
