So many fun things happened. Two weekends ago – last weekend we shared a wedding.  But we also shot a spring engagement session at JMU.  We drove up to JMU. 

We met up with Anna + Garrett to be able to shoot their engagement session on Campus.  They met while they were on track together. 

When we were shooting on the quad, we had them do a walking shot, then had them run.  And they took it very seriously. You could see they were true runners. 

We actually showed up a little early, so we drove around campus before we met up with them. And there were robots everywhere. It was food delivery.  JMU has these food deliver robots everywhere.. and during our session we watch one happen.  And it said Go Dukes! 

We were fascinated the entire time. So that had nothing to do with their engagement session but it was really fun. 

JMU Spring engagement

So we started at the restaurant Garrett proposed (Joshua Wilton House), the place they got engaged.  Then we went around JMU’s campus and it was really fun (‘cause there were robots everywhere). 

And then we went back to the restaurant at the end of their session.  It seemed like it might be really cloudy at the beginning of the day, so we pushed their session up, but then the clouds parted and it was really sunny.. so we went back when we had a little better light and it was beautiful. 

The great thing about JMU is that everything was pretty close together. 

It was just a great session.  They were so fun and up for anything, and any picture we wanted to do.  Which was amazing. And we got to explore the campus, which was beautiful! 

A Coke on the JMU Quad

Before engagement sessions we ask if there is anything we can do to help make them feel more comfortable, and Anna said bring Garrett a coke. He loves coke, so we brought him some.  So on the quad we got them sitting on the lawn drinking a glass bottle coke. 

And we even took a couple of Anna in her cap and gown because she’s graduating. 

I feel like this was a session we got to flex our artistic muscles.  I felt like JMU was a great place to explore creative options.  So that artistic side came out at this session.
