Today, we are going to be talking about Katlin and Matt’s Wisteria Farms Spring engagement session.
Yeah, we are. Katlin is a sweet friend of mine. We’ve been teaching together for the past year and a half, and Matt is her new fiancé. Katlin is an absolute sweetheart. Her and Matt have been together for a while. Literally, every time I see Katlin (well until she got engaged), I would check her hand and see if a ring was on it yet.
We just all knew that it was coming and so when I got that text message, the picture with a diamond on her finger, we were just so excited for her. They make such a sweet couple, so we’re really excited for them.
If they look a little familiar it’s because we shot them back in the fall. Last year we did some mini sessions with them. They weren’t engaged at the time, yet, but they had just gotten a dog.Â
A new puppy, Millie.
She is really adorable, we will link it. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to see those.
A sweet little labradoodle? Is that what their dog is?
Yes? Do I sound confident?
Not at all?
Okay, great. It’s definitely a labradoodle.
Yeah, it’s adorable. And so, anyways, Millie made an appearance at their Wisteria Farms Spring engagement session too. Usually, we tell couples to bring their dogs for the last 15 minutes or so of a session, we let Millie for a little bit longer.
She’s a big part of their lives.
They decided to do their engagement session at Wisteria Farms, which is like down in Chesterfield/ Chester.
Their wedding venue.
It’s a gorgeous place. Right, when you pull in, there’s a road lined with trees that once the bloom will be gorgeous.
They’re getting married in the fall. So it is going to be really gorgeous in the fall. It was pretty then, but the trees were still pretty bare from winter. We were able to find a couple flowering trees a little cherry blossom and I don’t know what the other one was. But it made it nice.
And they have horses on the property. One of our favorite photos from the day was when one the horses that were out in the field just came right up to the back of Matt. He was right next to the fence and the horse started sniffing them or something. I don’t know. It’s cute though. It’s in the post.
Yeah, it’s adorable. And then when Millie came she was so confused about the horses. It was hard to get her attention, she was very distracted by the large animals. Yeah, but it was really sweet.
And then I think what’s really cool is Wisteria Farm’s reception space is the reception space. (I guess they will have a tent too, so maybe they will just use this for cocktail hour.) But it’s actually converted horse barn, so they have the stalls where the horses would be that are now little areas for the food to go or there’s couches, and this cool vintage furniture and stuff, so it’s a really unique venue.
Yeah, really excited to shoot there.Â
Yeah, it was definitely cool to be able to go there. And it was just a fun time to be able to see Katlin and Matt and just spend some time with them. They’re such a sweet couple. We love you two so much.
