Hurricane Florence decided to come the weekend of our only double header of the season. Of course. We saw SO many weddings that had to be cancelled/delayed/rescheduled/adjusted because of the storm, and we were getting a little nervous.. but Saturday was a spectacualar day. A light drizzle was all that we saw which means we got portraits outside, in gorgeous light. This is the same couple who we almost had to reschedule their engagement session because of rain.. but I’m just going to take all the rain around them to mean that their marriage is going to be the luckiest of them all.

The Retreat at Eastwood is an amazing venue in Warrenton, VA. Isn’t an absolutely stunning piece of land with the most gorgeous house and surrounding buildings on the property. The empending rain pushed the ceremony space and reception to a new location with more coverage, but it was still such a beautiful location… and it gave us a great excuse to pull these two for a little longer into the gardens (which was their first choice location for their ceremony) for portraits.

At the beginning of the reception, Sam’s dad came to give a toast. He recalled that as he walked up to Sam and Richard, when he was meeting him for the first time, he knew right away, before even speaking with him, that Sam had found her other half. He gave several reasons to why this may be saying he was not really sure what it was.. but one of which was the way Richard looks at Sam. And I had to hold myself back from screaming out THAT’S IT! Is it so unbelievably evident that Richard is completely and madly in love with Sam from the first time you see him look at her.
