We absolutely love photographing friends! We strive to build relationships with all of our couples, & when we get to photograph friends as stunning as these two, we count ourselves extremely lucky! Spencer & Elaina are friends of ours that go to our church, Coastal Community Church. I have known Spencer for a few years through a small group that I joined, and we’ve gotten to know Elaina after she joined the church as the director of children’s ministry a few years ago. Seriously these two are beautiful! And that goes for their hearts as well… they are just amazing!
We have had this engagement scheduled a couple times throughout the summer, but the date kept moving, partly because they wanted to use a cotton field, and partly because Spencer & Elaina are actually getting married in less than two weeks!! So, a lot of other things had to also happen in a short 5 months…
But it was SOOOO worth the wait. I know I don’t have to make a list of why fall is our favorite time of the year…(but maybe it will randomly show up on the blog soon..) The weather was cool and the light was extra glowy! We have photographed an engagement session before at a cotton field, but decided to venture to another field instead. It turns out, it helps to rotate crops for farmers so the same thing isn’t growing in the same place. That’s why, if you look closely, our first “cotton field” was actually a pea field instead! But it didn’t matter… These two rocked it nonetheless!
We did eventually end up at a cotton field that overlooked a lake, and we just couldn’t stop taking photos of these two as the sun dropped lower and lower! We went out to dinner afterwards, and when we got there the sky just exploded with color, so we had to take a few right on the water. Congratulations Spencer & Elaina, we love you guys!
