We love date nights. Whether it’s dinner and a movie, or roaming around a mega store (see Part I), we know it’s important in any marriage or relationship, to set intentional time to be together. Our definition of a date is a loose one.. We just encourage you to be purposeful, joyful, and loving in your time together. This is our series to record our date nights and give you ideas and encouragement to continuously date each other.
This date night had me feeling a little like I was straight out of a movie. I think the only thing missing was a light snow. I have been making advent calendars for Michael for years to celebrate the Christmas season, and I think I have put a ticket to go ice skating in every year. However, we’ve NEVER actually been! So this year I was determined to make sure we actually went. AND the new shopping center near us has an outdoor rink set up, which was so. much. fun! We pretty much had the rink to ourselves, besides some adorable little girls singing Taylor Swift. Neither of us fell, which was amazing… though we did have some close calls. It was a perfect night, that had me longing for more date nights.. enjoy yours 🙂
The Date: Outdoor Ice Skating and appetizers at P.F. Chang’s

How to: Find an outdoor skating rink, because for some reason it has so much more of a romantic tone than an indoor rink.
Time sensitive?: Winter
Location: The new Tech Center Shopping in Newport News at the corner of Jefferson and Oyster Point.
Approximate Time: We spent about an hour on the rink.
Preparation needed?: Nope.
