We love date nights.  Whether it’s dinner and a movie, or roaming around a mega store (see Part I), we know it’s important in any marriage or relationship, to set intentional time to be together. Our definition of a date is a loose one.. We just encourage you to be purposeful, joyful, and loving in your time together. This is our series to record our date nights and give you ideas and encouragement to continuously date each other.

This week’s date was EASY.  We are on vacation with my family in one of my favorite places on earth, Welfleet, Cape Cod.  My family grew up coming to this adorable town on the cape.  One of my absolute favorite things to do while we are here is to go to the drive in.  It has all the elements of a perfect traditional date (movie night), but with a super fun, straight out of Grease feel (without everyone finding out risso is preggers).. Bring some snacks, a cooler, dinner even.. a blanket to snuggle up, pop open the trunk and settle in for an awesome movie with your hubby.

The Date: Drive in movie

Cost: In Welfleet: $9/person + snacks

How to: Look up drive-ins in your area.  I’ve done a bit of googling for you if your in Virginia.  This one in Goochland seemed to get some good reviews ($8.50/per person.  No outside food/drinks allowed).. if you go there.. let us know how it was!

Time sensitive?:  Night time.  Preferably during good weather.

Location: Our drive in was on our vacation to the Cape, but search for ones new you.

Approximate Time: 4 hours  (the Welfleet driven does double headers.. looks like some of the VA ones do too.)  Michael and I pretty much always stay for both.. we are movie obsessed though..

Preparation needed?:  Not unless you want to.  We think it’s fun to stock up on goodies bring a blanket, and some drinks.  But none of that is necessary.  Most drive-ins will have a snack bar of sorts if you want it.
