As we drove up to the
Barn at Edgewood for Megan and Spencer’s wedding, I literally began to squeal. I was audibly excited. I couldn’t contain it. I love Charlottesville, I LOVE big open fields, and we just love a classic barn wedding. I got ALL of those things I love as we pulled in for this wedding. AND we got to work with an awesome team of creatives for this wedding. Some amazing people run this barn, Maurine of “Just a Little Ditty” events was incredible, the videographers, the DJ, the caterers,
(see a full list at the end of this post!) everyone was incredible.
.
And then to top it all of, like the sprinkles on an incredible sundae were Megan & Spencer. We have worked with some awesome couples and some amazing families, but these two were just so much fun to work with! From the day they invited us over to their home to chat over wedding details, I knew this was going to be an amazing day. Then we drove together out to the middle of Suffolk in search of a cotton field for their
engagement session and we got to hear all about their lives.. and grew to love these two even more. And then the toasts from their loved ones on their wedding day were the BEST I’ve heard. Megan grew up across the street from this amazing venue, and though there is a ton of property out there, it seems like it’s really just a tiny lil’ neighborhood. I think everyone who lived on the street was there.. and that they are all really just one big family.. complete will inside jokes, goofy parents, and an unbelievable amount of love for each other.
.
Another thing that made this wedding absolutely incredible is that we also shot more images this wedding than any wedding we have ever photographed (at the end of day we actually checked that images weren’t being duplicated! That’s how many pictures we took!). And it was all because of their timeline! It was a photographer’s dream… they built in THREE portrait times for us (first look before the ceremony, a short time during cocktail hour, and at sunset while everyone was eating dinner)! AND they still made it to their cocktail hour. First looks people, they make all the difference in the world. Here are a few of our many, many favorites from this gorgeous wedding..
